1st half of semester we have looked at representational art, the 2nd half below will now look at the ideas and the narrative behind art. Etc: life size, moma, the collection of fruits at the front looks like an erect penis suggesting the erotically- charged male viewer ix. The 2 women on the right look animalistic with their masks, an animalistic face was often used to show prostitute: picasso constructs an identity of an avant-garde artist but pushing that forward xi. Sketches of the work: there are men in them a medical student and a sailor. Braque, violin and pitcher, 1910: picasso and braque worked together, the braque collection was bought by the estee-lauter family and given to the mett, cubism saw events etc. that were not possible in reality. Picasso, guitar, sheet music and wine glass 1902: a still life piece, the sheet music is represented by actual sheet music, an attack on art works anti-military, anti-politicsl etc.
