There will be sample questions posted before the exam: modulation of sensory responses (cont. ) Sensory responses can be modulated by different behavioral states. The auditory response of the hvc (high vocal center; vocal sensorimotor nucleus important for song production in birds) in bengalese finch is modulated by singing. In quiescent birds, there"s a rapid within 10- 20ms increase in activity in response to playback of a single song syllable.
