Radiation can come in many diferent forms and from diferent sources. Follow the surgeon general s recommendations for radon testing. Find out if there are radioactive sites in your area: noise pollution. Prolonged exposure to sounds above 80-85 decibels can cause permanent hearing loss. Common sources of excessive noise: workplace and sporting events & rock concerts. Federal and provincial or territorial governments set limits for noise in the workplace (not rock concerts) Ways to avoid exposing yourself to excessive noise. When listening to music with headphones, you should be able to hear the people around you when they are speaking in a normal tone of voice. Earmuf style headphones are less damaging than earbuds. Become a part of larger community actions to work for a healthier world.
