We"ve already mentioned tommaso da vio, aka cardinal cajetan who debated luther back in: cardinal contarini. He was a venetian trained at padua present at luther"s diet of worms in 1521. Contarini largely symphathized with luther"s complaints about clerical abuses. Also his theology of grace: his contribution. Contarini would be a leader of the pro reform movement within the institution of the catholic.
