Jean piaget led us to understand that children develop knowledge through physical observation and handling real world objects. in this way, they become leaners, building their understanding of the world. Physical knowledge is obtained from experiences with objects that allow children to draw conclusions about the physical world and properties of objects: e. g. , cars roll down a ramp. Uninterrupted playtime offers children the experiences necessary to construct these kinds of knowledge through opportunities for investigation. Identify 4 important reasons why we incorporate loose parts into a play environment. (p. 184: manipulatives support the development of important concepts. The child must be able to produce the phenomenon by his/her own actions. The child must be able to vary his/her action. The reaction of the object must be immediate. Physical knowledge is the knowledge that has its source in objects (the physical world).
