Social validity: clients should see value in the goals, procedures, and e ects of behavioural interventions: contingencies that teach and reinforce appropriate behaviour, teach life skills, self monitoring, and self management, plan the intervention to generalization. Family models should provide the socializing in uences of contingencies, models, and values, that would facilitate individualized redirection for youth with problem behaviours. Di erences from aba: family model vs. 1:1 or group in a more clinical setting. Designed for troubled, at-risk youth who may not have had success in less- restrictive placements: wide range of social competency de cits. Assumptions: youth attending have not learned (skill de cit, youth attending have in their repertoire but do not yse (performance de cit, problems occur due to behavioural de cits, and are improved by teaching the appropriate behaviours. Integrated community: school, community work, family, treatment parents live with 4-8 children. Parents seek to integrate treatment into the home and environment.
