Document Summary

Phyl 3520 lecture 12 february 10, 2020 cv iii dysrhythmia i. Problem with the generation of electrical signals would result in problems with heart rate, which would affect the cardiac output, and thus map and the ability to get blood to the tissues. Problems with electrical signals also means there will be a problem with stroke volume and contractility. Cardiac function: electrical signals conducted to all working muscle in specific pattern, dysrhythmia, alterations in membrane potential, channel malfunction, conduction defects. Dysrhythmia can be defined by three types of abnormalities. Alterations in membrane potential changes the membrane potential different outside and inside the cell. Channel malfunction is caused by a genetic mutation (such that the ion channels do not exist) or by a malfunction of the channels. Conduction defects affect the ability of getting the signals throughout the heart in the right order for some reasons.
