Nero and the fire of rome in 64 ce. Decius (250ce) forced to sacriice to the gods. Myths concerning bapism and conversion of the empire. Lapsi: these are the people who made sacriice to the gods. Traditores: bishops, deacons, gave over holy book, gave over tradiion. Donaists: worried about these bishops who are traitors. Augusine corpus permixtus = mixture of saints and sinners in the church. He says church is not a pure body, it"s a mixed body. Catacombs: tombs underneath the city, found with altars because chrisians hid there and did mass.
