Talking about comorbidities - disorder that occurs at same time as adhd. Adds tremendous lvl of complexity in diagnosing and treating adhd bc need to treat adhd and the other disorder. Treating the other disorder can impact the adhd, can even worsen it. Trying to treat them as best as possible without making the other one worse. Comt gene - some sort of role in each of these 3 disorders. Maybe that"s why tend to see this overlap btwn them. When trying to treat these disorders, maybe can look at similar tx if underlying cause is similar. Something always related to genetic component but also env component showing these comorbidities. Symptom or severity of adhd in adhd and anxiety kids had worsened. Doing research = difficult bc the symptoms present themselves in many diff ways. Some show that symptoms in adhd w adhd and anxiety are worse but others say that not worse so inconsistencies.
