Infancy is the first two years after birth. Each age group, we deal with physical, cognitive and emotional. The average infant birth weight is 6. 5 pounds, in 5 months, it doubles, so the total average is about 15 pounds. By one-year-old, the birth weight has tripled to approximately 22 pounds, and by the end of the first two years, the birth rate would be quadruple, and would be about 30 pounds. In terms of height, the child is about 22 inches long, but at the end of the first year, the child stands about 30 inches. At birth, we say that the child measures about 22 inches, at one-year-old, the child stands 30 inches. The upper part of the body grows faster than the lower part of the body. The central part of the body develops before the outer part of the body.
