Cross cultural literacy: understanding if how cultural differences across and within. Edward taylor (1970) saw it as: culture, or civilization . is that complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art, law, morals, custom, and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society . Geert hofstede defined it as: the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one human group from another culture, in this sense, includes systems of values; and values are among the building blocks of culture. Zvi namenwirth & robert weber see culture as a system of idea and argue that these ideas constitute a design for living. Values form the bedrock of a culture, and are invested with considerable emotional significance: values and norms. Norms are the social rules that governs people"s actions towards one another. Norms can be divided into two groups: folkways & mores.
