Third and historically most recent monotheistic faiths. Word usually translated as submission or surrender. Muslim submits or surrenders to the will of god. English word submit or surrender has stereotypical associations of cohesions, don"t want to but forced to. But in islam, the root word contains consonants "s-l-m" means peace, wholeness, safety. Muslim: one who nds peace in surrendering to the will of god. For muslims, islam means primordial faith and truth. The functioning of all things in the universe according to the eternal will of god. The phrase however implies that every act and event in the universe is in some way encompassed by gods will. Every stone, every leaf summits to the will of god. Every child born into faith and inner capacity to know god. Born into purity and innocence, expression of the oneness of god. Humans are required to consciously choose to bare witness or not and follow gods rules or not.
