Actions that benefit either an individual or a society as a whole. Paying for your items at a store helping someone pick up their books. Society would crumble if no one participated in prosocial activities. Working together, with each person contributing to achieve a common goal. Typically cooperation is seen as a positive behavior but there are times where. Or do what"s best for the group competition/defecting might befit us more as a whole. They"ve just been arrested by the police for stealing candy from a baby. The police suspects they have committed a worse crime (bank robbery) but no evidence. Now they have two choices: keep silent or blame the other. Forgiving is not forgetting so anger can linger. In mixed interactions female-male women are more cooperative. Benefits both parties both the forgiver and the one being forgiven. Hard to define theoretically, know what it feels like though.
