Individuals primed with either elderly words (florida, wrinkle, knits) or neutral terms (thirsty, clean private) After they were primed with the mindsets, a confederate timed how long it took them to get from the of ce to the elevator. People who were primed with elderly words too longer to get to the elevator from the of ce. Hypothesis: tactile experience of warmth would activate concepts/feelings of interpersonal warmth. Iv: tactile warmth touch cup of hot coffee. 3: tactile cool touch cup of iced coffee, all participants read about a hypothetical person who was described as intelligent, skillful, industrious, determined, practical and cautious. Dv: impressions of a hypothetical person in terms of personality traits characterized as warm (e. g. , friendly, helpful, trustworthy) or cold (blunt, competitive, calculating) and others. Results: people who held the warm cup of coffee interpreted the target person as being more friendly, trustworthy and helpful (interpersonal warm personality traits) than those who held the cold cup of coffee.
