Right hemisphere: visual, spatial, holistic, music, theme of language, creativity, intuition. Speech production (produces the words that allow you to speak) When people have a stroke or a traumatic brain injury such as a blow to the head or a concussion they know what to say but they cannot say it. In comparison, on the right side, they comprehend speech. Speech sounds normal but it is meaningless say words but do not correlate to conversation ex. * purple part in diagram toward the back. Left side of body typically wired to right side of brain. Right side of body typically wired to left side of brain. Each eye is wired to both sides of brain. Divided brain: 2 halves connected by corpus colosseum. Ability to recognize and compensate for damage. Brian kolb, more stimulating environments can lead to longer dendrites. Cases of stroke, brain injury and surgery.
