Start of with descartes (father of philosophy: was also a physiologist. Did autopsies to study bodies (therefore he knew what he was doing, not just talk about it: he was a physical dualist: thought that the mind is separate from the body. Some people think of dualism diferently soul vs. body/mind. Think it is all the mind, no god (aka physicalism: physicalism oten thinks about how the physical is combined, thinks that the mind is like a computer, or many computers interlinked. We will talk about consciousness: d. Then talk about how we understand each other. Neurosomething: what extends beyond our physical parameters. Reason its called irst philosophy is because in science we need to acquire knowledge: you need a staring point! You have to build of of what you know (not what you may know) Descartes is famous for using principle of certainty.
