Nations systematically began to enforce their totalitarian interest in certain aspects as arendt explains antisemitism and imperialism as concepts encompassed within the concept of totalitarianism. The goal of arendt"s work was to explain the growth of totalitarianism in certain aspects following world war 1 and to understand its affects on certain groups of people. She goes on to explain the effects of war, particularly the european continent as they were deeply affected by the two wars that took place during the 20th century. Certain groups of people were indifferent to one another"s interests and became distant from neighboring countries, creating a rift between classes and ethnicities. Arendt explains the contradictions within the 20th century perception of these refugees. Inalienable rights are still not universal and in someway do not apply to these stateless" people.
