Packer looked at these as consensual transactions which makes them victimless. He also said that with due process in the justice system we should see a decrease in sanctions in regards to victimless crimes. Most feminist groups supported his theory of abortion but they wanted it for different reasons they wanted it for equality where as packer looked at it as a consensual transaction. We moved away from accused rights (due process) vs the state (crime control) to a conflict between the accused due process rights and groups of victims or potential victims. These new political cases that are within the first part of the charter era were most likely to uphold new criminal laws and legislation to protect victims and potential victims. Two groups both representing adults with developmental disabilities, one group says the assisted suicide should be legal the other group says it shouldn"t be legal.
