The ccrf is the biggest instrument we have in regards to limiting sovereign power, against the excessive use of power & force by the rulers of society. There"s a lot of interpretation that goes into deining what our fundamental rights are. All criminal law must conform to the charter. Sect 1 of the ccrf is guaranteed unless it can be justiied that these rights become limited. Section 2 our fundamental freedom rights ex. Regarding section 3-5 democratic rights (right to vote) there has been protest in allowing criminals to vote. Section 7 discusses the right to life, liberty and security you have no right to make this a crime ex.
