Today"s lecture is about right and wrong- ethics is the philosophical study of morality. We study ethics because we want to explore big quesions about how we are to live as humans and how we are to conduct ourselves with each other"s. To put it awkwardly, ethics is something that we can see through our acions. What we do in a given situaion relects our ethical posiion regarding that acion. As a result, our acions communicate values, principles, and morals that we possess individually and as a society. Second i want to look at how new technologies may have ethical assumpions built into them by us and, moreover, how is our engagement with those new technologies challenges is to think of our ethical standards. We can call all this an ethics of media. We are all media acivists, we are like litle libraries. We broadcast to our networks in the same way the television broadcast to networks.
