At the end of the 7th year war france gave most of its territory to the brits. Canada and the us has very similar cultures, people move within the boarders, if we look at the earliest maps of canada what we see his small settlements spreaded throughout the countries, (lots of town knitted together). Some people argue there is a major difference between canada and the states. The states achieved independence through the american revolution separating themselves from the brits.
