In the sate of uttarakhand, there are now around 40,000: employee turnover (p. 8) Recruited employees work very hard and are passionate but they do not stay with the company long enough to make a difference: hydroelectricity project (p. 7) Rlek must decide where they stand on the construction of the ntpc"s project. They are torn between standing up for people"s sentiments and between solving the state"s ever-increasing power demand. Causes: - there is easy funding for ngos from foreign philanthropic institutions. Very easy to register an ngo and gain goodwill: - the compensation is low because rlek relies heavily on funds and donations to meet its financial obligations. There are few chances for promotion within the organization. They have a flat structure without a chain of command: - with increasing competition rlek does not want to upset people"s sentiments by encouraging the hydroelectric project.
