It is then filed with the court and plaintiff arranges to serve it to the defendant: statement of defense and counterclaim: Outlines the reasons that the defendant says he or she should not have to compensate the plaintiff. If defendant cannot serve the sod within the specified time, they can give the plaintiff a notice of intent to defend.
