BUSI 2101 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: B. F. Skinner, Organizational Learning, Perceived Control
Document Summary
An organization"s resource and capability that is acquired through education and experience (difficult to fully imitate). When someone leaves they take knowledge with them and offer it elsewhere. Notes: hard to replace management know-how and r&d researchers. Millennials, due to gaming, now lack learning and decision making skills. Through learning, one can create a change in existing knowledge. Learning: a process that causes a relatively permanent change in: 3 kinds of learning: cognitive: learn to recall, analyze, synthesize and problem-solve. Thinking : psychomotor: learn a new skill, operate a machine, swim, and drive etc. Physical/kinesthetic : affective: learn to like or fear something, learning value. Create a conditioned response to an unconditional stimulus (non-voluntary behaviour). Create a reaction to something that didn"t cause a reaction before. A method of learning that occurs through reinforcement/feedback and punishments for behavior. Consequences of operant conditioning: reinforcement - increases the probability of a behavior being expressed.
