Advantages to egg dumping: making sure that even if the ducks nest is attacked there will be a chance for her to have at least one ducking. Cuckoo birds are also facultative brood parasitism sometimes go into the nest of the other type (black-billed and yellow-billed) of cuckoo bird, mimic their call and lay their egg there. Opossums give birth to over 20 babies but only have 13 nipples so only the strongest.
