Our cogniion allows us to be social in ways that nonhumans cant be. Ex1: mom borrows jersey and baseball cap for game, and child says no you have to go to boys bathroom bc you"re dressed like a boy! . Ex2: mom accidentally bangs mailbox with elbow and it opens so she closes. Kid sees this and does the same thing bc she thinks she needs to do that to close the mailbox. Humans are unique: we can pass on info from one generaion to the next. Back in the day we could wash our clothes in the lake, no machinery needed but then there"s the invenion of the washing machine and now its completed automated. Monkeys seem to be able to pick up this behavior quite easily on their own without observing others (no speciic instrucion given; it was a natural behavior rather than something catching on)
