Only allowed to interfere with someone else"s life if it interferes with your own well-being. Theory of liberty (not right like kant defended as a maxim that can be known through reason) Wants to protect individual autonomy as he believes it is the way that society progresses (how we learn and how we become better) If you prohibit things you will contribute to their attraction (includes substances and ideas: absolute defender of the freedom of speech. Should be no prohibitions on the freedom of speech (arguments for sexism, racism etc. ) If you allow all opinions into the public space, the opinions that are ill advised will get depleted (if you do not let them into the public, they will go underground and receive more attention) Freedom of consciousness, freedom of religion and freedom of association. Right to express your own opinion and gather with others who have the same opinions you do.
