Was open originally but closed up after 9 years in power. Harper put a rule that only 5 questions could be asked. Was annoying because harper is paid by the public, through taxes, so we should be able to ask questions. Big media outlets (cbs, star, globe, etc. ) will come together to decide 5 big questions. Harper also put together a question limits only allowing specific outlets to ask questions (had to be on this list) Media would also try to talk to ministers entering and exiting cabinet meetings. Justin trudeau believes journalists are supposed to ask tough questions, it"s part of their job. Ministers are trying to answer political answers through email rather than on the phone. It is all filtered before a journalist will get an answer. Government will sit on bad news and wait for something worse to happen.
