Meditation 2 on the nature of the human mind and that the mind is better known than the body. Common sense says the body id easier to know than the mind because the body is visible and tangible. Descartes says that as a consequence of his sceptical doubts he feels like he is in the sea and his feet are unable to touch the bottom and his head can"t stay above the surface. Descartes says that all things that he sees have to be considered false because he has no good reason to believe that anything in the external world is certain. Descartes has no good reason to think that 2+2 really equals 4. Descartes asks am i so intimately connected to my body and my senses that i would not exist without them?". There is no doubt that i existed if i persuaded or convinced myself of anything .
