Diversity: many different kinds of people and representation. When you don"t have diversity you have discrimination. Linked or rooted with stereotypes; generalizations: also goes along with prejudice, prejudice: pre-judging people; could be done using stereotypes, negative or oversimplified views of others, actual definition: not individually accessing the merits or capabilities of a person. Making stereotypical assumptions about a person based on prejudice. Can be completely individualized: but is often based on social groups, privileged groups discriminating on those with less privilege. People discriminate based on race: racism; racial hatred; racial violence. Discrimination based on gender: sexism, making assumptions of women based on limitations, trans-sexism or transphobia, discrimination against those who are not cisgender. Misogyny: women hating; going beyond assumptions. Homophobia: discrimination of those who do not identify with the heteronormative. Ageism: discriminating against people because they are young or old. Things can become complicated through other interlocking oppressions/ compounded oppressions: can work on their own or together, can be obvious.
