Retrospective cohort study- looking in a database, we got data on exposure and outcome. Going into the database and selecting subjects for a new exposure and looking forward in time and asking if they did or did not get the outcome. Looking for an outcome of melanoma/no melanoma. We will finish with a relative risk of melanoma and incidence of melanoma in each group. Now i want to know what happens when the exposure is not blood transfusion from others with melanoma. Have the database from the prospective cohort study. Now you have those who received the blood transfusion and those who. Now we must see in the database if they were recorded in the melanoma group or the no melanoma group. In the end of this study we will get incidence and relative risk. Select your groups based on those who have melanoma and those who haven"t don"t.
