Concerned with why older adults want to remain in their homes and how best to support them to do so, the latter focuses on identifying and understanding the important contexts of aging. That neighbor- hoods are extremely important places of aging where going outside to interact with the material and social neighbor- hoods is essential to well-being and self-identity among older adults. One of most significant ways in which actual engagement promotes well being is through providing opportunities to develop strong and supportive social relationships. The method: friendly visiting- which integrates qualitative method principles from community based visiting programs. Study site and recruitment: high park region in downtown toronto, participants requited through a not for profit seniors organization i the area. Participants: six adults, 3 men and 3 women- average age of 82. 5. A coding strategy was developed that integrated the textual, visual, and auditory data to highlight themes that characterized partic- ipants" neighborhood perceptions and experiences.
