Lots of people worry about their weight. One way to determine your healthy weight is with a chart like this: men"s weight would generally be at higher end, women"s weight would generally be at lower end. But a healthy weight is more that just weight-to-height. Refers to a total body weight above the recommended range for good health (as determined by large-scale population surveys) It is possible to be overweight without being fat (example: athletes with lean muscle mass), but body fat is usually the cause of overweight. An exess accumulation of non-essential body fat beyond what"s considered healthy for a person of a certain age and sex. Fat-free mass consists of muscle, bones, body organs (heart, liver, kidneys), and body water. Subcutaneous fat: located just beneath the skin, protective for a variety of diseases, normal physiological response to excess energy intake (about 80% of all body fat is subcutanesous)
