Immunology is a team effort: many different players interacting to achieve, e. g. football team. Today, we"ll take a tour of the immune system for an overview of the essence parts and how they fit together without. Physiological mechanisms that humans and other animals use to defend their bodies from invasion by other organisms (but without harming themselves) Historically, observations of survivors of epidemic (small islands) disease that were apparentl untouched (immune) when faced wuth the same infectious disease again at a later time: e. g. measles outbreak on an island. These infectious diseases are caused by microorganisms: advantage of reproducing and evolving much more rapidly than their human hosts, pit enormous populations of its species against an individual human. In response, the human body invests heavily in cells dedicated to defense, which collectively form the immune system.
