Data science emerges at the intersection of the fields of social science and statistics, information and computer science, and design. Data science is a complete set of tools and know how to work on any aspect of data life cycle. Type a: analysis (statistician, quantitative analyst, decision support, engineering analyst) A data scientist is a data detective : someone able to problem solve with data in their field. A data scientist is that unique blend of skills that can both unlock the insights of data and tell a fantastic story via the data. Data scientists, custodians and users need to comply with australian legal and regulatory frameworks (ands) This requires a transparent plan for data collection, storage, exchange, access and reporting. Most commonly, results need to be non-identifiable. However, the eu mandates data rows to be identifiable to protect privacy. Other issues include how to deal with errors and missing values as these other decisions can have significant impact downstream.
