Advertisers to sell products e. g. 9 out of 10 dentists recommend a toothpaste. Average life expectancy of famous orchestral conductors is 73. 4 years (atlas, 1978). Conducting an orchestra is so fulfilling it extends life. At the time, the average us male life expectancy was 68. 5 years. Us males who live to 32 years old expect 72 yrs. If there is an effect is it systematic or due to chance: systematic vs chance explanations. Systematic factor an influence that contributes an orderly relative advantage to particular subgroups of observation. Chance factor an influence that contributes haphazardly to each observation, with the amount of influence on any given observation being unspecifiable. When any data is presented, there will be both systematic and chance factors.
