This course examines different contexts of mental health as well as covering assessment and interventions. Models of social work practice will be discussed as well as ethical and professional issues in mental health. On successful completion of this course you should be able to: Analyse the role of social workers and human services workers in mental health. Apply and analyse mental health practices and theories including being able to do assessments, intervention plan, link theory to practice. Critically reflect on own values and beliefs about mental health and apply the aasw code of ethics to self and practice. Demonstrate high quality communication, ability to present information and resources.
