SPTH2002 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Hair Cell, Earwax, Autism Spectrum
Document Summary
Early hearing detection program for infants born or residing in nsw. The smaller the hearing aid gets, the less powerful they are and the less features it will have. A microphone picks the sound up in the "deaf" ear and sends it to the good ear for processing. For a bilateral hearing loss that is uneven - the sound. Most durable and last longer and can suit a wide range (mild-profound) of hearing losses. The large size means they can accommodate more features. If a child"s hearing loss changes, these hearing aids can accommodate that change. The only hearing aids young children would have as they would need moulds for their hearing aids. Some have the receiver in the tubing in the ear canal. Suitable for mild through to moderate and some severe hearing losses. Must have good manual dexterity to manipulate theses hearing aids. People choose bte over ite because their own voice sounds better.
