Movement: develop understanding, focus on rhythmic elements, clap, stamp, jump within capabilities, movement, can be locomotor, moving through space or non locomotor, standing still, exploring different levels. Song: primary melody instrument, explore the sounds of voice through speech first, develop into sound creating a specific pitch (through exploration) Listening: active listening, allows students to focus on particular aspects of music whilst performing tasks. Learning more about patterns: give understanding of different levels. Instruments: enhance childrens ideas, recoder, matches sounds of the barred instruments, suitable size for chidlren, xylophone, metallophones, glockenspiels. Instruments must be a high quality musical sound that teaches correct pitch and tonality. Non-melodic instruments: made from metal, wood, or covered with membranes or skin. 1920s and 1930s by the german composer and educator carl orff and his colleague gunild keetman.
