• Writing Vocabulary Observation sheet
o Aidan was using visual knowledge to see what was coming next
• If the child’s reading is less than 90% accurate, meaning is lost
o Can you write your name?
▪ If the child replies no:
• Are there any letters?
• Has no context when he writes the words
• Writing Vocabulary – Word recognition
o Recognising words in isolation if different to when reading in context
o Aidan did not have the spelling patterns
▪ Aidan found it difficult to spell, but easy to read, due to the context, visual cues and grammar
within the book
▪ Doesn’t form his letters in a fluent way
