humors, and the eye.

Conjunctiva – inner surface
of eyelid is a tranpsranet
membrane , is super thin
Lacrimal pncta – where we
have tears and lysosome
( part of tears and is an enzyme that ekps to break down bacteria, so we don’t get injected
eyeys .
The eye itself – refered to as the eyeball , located in eye socets and is a cirle divide into 2 caivites ;
- Posterior , sits behind lens Vitrious humour – is jelly like substance tat fills posterior
caivity

- Anterior – sits inside lens . divide into 2
chambers , anterior and posterior ( sites
between pupil and iris ) , it is filled with
aquesous humour ( want to make sure the
amount of this produced is the same as
being released.)
3 different layers of the eye
1. Outer fiour tuni c – involved in support protection nd attachment of muscles , forms outer
layer of eye involves the sclera ( the whites of eye , covers majorty of surface and is
composed of connective tissue , collagen and elastic fibers, helps to portect eye) and cornea
( continuous with scelra but it is transparent, is composed of multiple layers of collagen
fibers, proived window for light to come through)

2. Intermeidate Vascula Tunic ( Uvea) – this layer proved state for blood vessels, the vascular
layer, also regulates the amount of light netering the eye, it’s the bit that secrets aqueous
humour , also helps to control the shape of the lens, it contrains the iris and pigment cells.
Also has 2 layers of smooth muscles. If tyou have a few pigments your eyes are blue , if you
have lts you have dark coloured eyes. Also contains the pupil ( opening of te iris) , habe
cillary body which atatches to the iris.
At back part of this layer have the choroid – it has extensive capillary network that supllies
blood to tunic layer and retina.
2 layers of smooth muscle – can contract or dilate to adjust to the amount of light. For close
vision pupils will contract, for long vision pupils will dialyte.
Can alos have changes based on emotion state – dilation – when situation is appealing or
problem solving .

3. Inner Nerual tunic – consists of retinal pigment Epithelium , it firmly atatches to choroid , its
job is to absord stray photos ( light) so you can focus on image provided.
