EDITING
Why does editing matter?
• Editing does not just involve line-by-line proofreading, involves reading for overall
clarity, structure and purpose and adding/ subtracting ideas in order to make your
overall argument clearer and stronger
• Editing. Why bother?
- Slow down and think about things
- Make drafts and multiple edits
- Edit fails can be funny! But not if it goes to print
+ IRL funny errors can be very expensive
+ In some cases, sales can go up
+ Internet articles have some leeway
