SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY
Social psychology is the scientific investigation of how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour are
influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others.!
This includes observable activity and psychological dimensions. !
The social component of social psychology refers to the role of others and their influences on our
thoughts, feelings and behaviour, including group behaviour, relationships, and the presence of
others. The cognitive component refers to the self-concept. The affective component is self-
esteem. The behavioural component is self presentation.!
