Mainly down to crustaceans are aquatic primarily. 2 pairs of antannae which is distinctive of crustacians first antannae is reffered to attenule and second is plain attennae two paris on the head is something all share. 2nd is the biramous appendages not all have to be but just some of them crustaceans have biramous appendages elsewhere in the body having two branches to them like having two branches to your legs. 2nd branch is an advantgae when they both have the one function forget about the maxille naupilus larva is not shared with all crustaceans but is distinctivley crustacean not all of them do. What a biramous appendage looks like you have protopod which is basal region which is single but attatched to that is the two branches called exopod on the outside and endopod towards the midline. Wherever they are this the basic arrangment.
