EDUC267 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Self-Awareness, Albert Bandura, Classroom Management
Document Summary
Behaviour is in uenced by the antecedents and consequences but is also in uenced by thoughts and beliefs. Behaviour change programs should focus on, observable behaviour as well as explained (thinking about) behaviour. In order to alter behaviour patterns in students, it is necessary to gather data via observation, questioning and a plan to encourage self regulation. People are not born able to self regulate. That is something that needs to be learned by the individual. Behaviour is learnt and can therefore be changed through thinking processes. Self regulation is one ability to control their feelings, impulses and actions. Being able to self regulate is important because it allows people to achieve positive outcomes. The better one can self regulate the better they behave and the better their sense of wellbeing. Self regulation is normally something w learn, often through interactions with others.
