Impact: events that effect many people - the more it affects, the better the story. Prominence: stories involving well known places, companies, groups or people. Proximity: the immediate vicinity where the story will have the greatest effect. Conflict: stories about people or organisations at odds with each other. Novelty: something bizarre or out of the ordinary. Human interest: what makes your story interesting to the everyday person. These questions are important to the synthesis phase of the review. This is often referred to as internal validity. Which interpretations, implications, and recommendations are well supported according to. Since social phenomena are rarely perfectly consistent, high consistency in the results suggests selective reporting by the researcher. This is usually found toward the end of the report. It is almost impossible to do honest research without encountering some surprises and being intrigued by them.
