Anarchists Against the State
In summary (Miller, 1984: 6-7)
o The state is a coercive body, which reduces freedom far beyond what is necessary for
coexistence
Making law in the interests of its own preservation, rather than human wellbeing
o The state is a punitive body, imposing harsh and unnecessary punishment
o The state is an exploitative body, which uses taxation and economic management to
pursue its own goals ('anarcho-liberalism') or the enrichment of the capitalist class
('anarcho-socialism')
