They!are!the!foundation!movements!or!precursor!patterns!to!specialised!complex!skills!in!

one!or!more!joints.!Consist!of!a!movement!pattern!that!has!specific!observable!
components.!Proficiency!does!not!occur!automatically!with!maturation.!Need!for!practice,!
encouragement!as!well!as!correct!and!quality!instruction.!The$teaching$of$FMS$is$done$
through$the$Teaching,$Learning,$Assessing$Cycle:$Identify!the!children's!interests,!strengths!
