Document Summary

Physics: involves the study of the physical world in particular the properties and interactions of matter and energy and their relationship. Energy: ability of matter or radiation to do work. Forms of energy include heat, electromagnetic (light), kinetic (motion), potential and nuclear (core pf the atom). The fundamental quantity used to describe physical quantities are called dimensions. For example length, mass and time are all dimensions. Dimensional analysis: a process whereby an equation can be checked. The number is written with one number to the left of the decimal point and appropriate power of 10. Significant figures are a reflection of the precision of a measurement or quantitative value. Science si system (most common): uses a set of base and derived units to measure the physical world. The four types of motion include straight-line motion, circular motion, projectile motion and rotational motion.
