Databases (kdd) is another term frequently used instead of or in combination with data. Mining: a process view of data mining, business use data mining to: Understand their business and make business-related predictions: data mining involves the use of a blend of methods/disciplines. (e. g. statistics and mathematics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc. , there are 2 main categories: Focus on historical data only and summarises what has happened in the business so far. Focus on future outcomes for the business given their historic data. Extracts or presents the main descriptive features from data.
